HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA , 7TH JUNE 2026 -

Amina Orfi has made history once again, becoming the youngest woman ever to lift the prestigious Quilter Cheviot British Open trophy.

At just 18 years old, Orfi breaks a record that had stood for 94 years, previously held by Susan Noel, who was 19 when she lifted the British Open title in 1932.

The victory continues a remarkable run of form for the Egyptian star, coming just three weeks after she captured her maiden senior World Championship title. The triumph will also see Orfi climb back to World No. 2 in the next PSA World Rankings.

Orfi arrived in the final after competing in the longest women's match in British Open history, a gruelling 110-minute semi-final. Despite the physical demands, she didn’t show any signs of fatigue in the championship match against Nour El Sherbini. After dropping the opening game 7-11, Orfi responded brilliantly, winning the next three games in succession to secure a 3-1 victory.

Final Score:

Amina Orfi beat Nour El Sherbini 3-1

7-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-8 (64 minutes)

Speaking after the match, Orfi said:

“I feel very happy with these two results back-to-back after the World Championships. I was very tired, and it was a great match there.”

The historic victory marks Orfi's first British Open title and further cements her status as one of the brightest talents in world squash at just 18 years old.
